THE “505 ALPHA” WATCH
In the 60’s Accutron unveiled its iconic asymmetrical Alpha case shape with the 505 timepiece. Accutron was popular at that time amongst physicians and nurses not only because of this significance, but also due to its unparalleled accuracy. The 505 became a notable watch because of the cross hairs, which divide the dial into quarters to measure time in 15-second increments. This design was the foundation for the full markings to check blood pressureand pulse throughout the medical industry. Known to be the original surgeon’s watch and for its use by nurses,the Accutron 505 became an instrumental tool throughout hospitals across the country.
