New York, NY (July 16, 2024) – The Accutron DNA collection makes a futuristic and bold statement by introducing four new strap color ways originally seen only in the Casino collection: green, blue, orange, and red. The new watches honor the past with the signature open-face design, but also look ahead to the future, using a proprietary electrostatic energy movement with an intricately engineered motor and turbine system that generates power and the smooth forward glide of the second hand.

The paradigm-shifting case design carries the “genetic information” of the original Spaceview, then cleverly synthesizes it into a 45.1 mm modern integrated case for a sportier look and with colorful integrated high-tech rubber straps with double-press deployant closure.

The green model features a case in stainless steel, a silver-grey open-work dial and polished silver-tone hands with signature Accutron green accents on the outer minute ring, the blue model a stainless steel case in combo rose-gold tone and grey finish and a black open-work dial and rose-gold tone hands with muted grey detail on the outer hour/minute ring, the red a stainless steel case in combo matte black and muted grey finish and a matte black open-work dial and hands with muted grey detail on the outer hour/minute ring, while the orange features a stainless steel case in combo grey and dark blue and a blue open-work dial and silver-tone hands with silver-grey accent on the outer hour/minute ring.

The stamped Accutron logo and turbine design on the case back remains a hallmark of the collection. All four styles retail for $3,500 each.

The Accutron DNA collection continues to build on the success of the brand’s groundbreaking electrostatic movement- a historical advancement in timekeeping and the first of its kind originally launched in 2020. The electrostatic energy is created by twin turbines that rotate because of human motion at incredible speeds between two electrodes affixed to the movement. The energy, stored in an accumulator, powers two motors: a world’s first electrostatic motor fueling the fluid second hand and a step motor powering the hour and minute hands.

To ensure power saving, the second hand automatically stops at 12 o'clock after 5 minutes of no activity, while the timepiece continues to keep time and the hour hand, and the minute hand keep moving. The second hand is easily activated and put once again in motion by simply swinging one’s arm fully up and down for 3 to 5 seconds. This movement powers the timepiece to return the second hand gradually to the correct second indication and the power save function is canceled.
